Rocky

Still feeling pretty gross, but made it in to work today- so I can show up for this too, I think. A short one.

Rocky (Lucky)

Rocky was a boxer that one of my roommates met at their gym and invited over after to hang out, which is how I met her. I was coming home from something, class or work, and stopped in my tracks when a cute, buff, mohawked girl sitting on my front porch said hey. I was introduced to her as someone who was getting over a recent breakup. She didn't seem that sad about it. She was butch and coarse and seemed like fun. 'Lucky me...' I thought.

And I was lucky. Well, I got lucky, with her. I don't remember any of the intermediate moments, but I ended up with her at her apartment nearby, kissing and licking and fingering and fucking in her bed. I remember pulling off her white wifebeater and her laughing. I remember her intense red mohawk and the gauges in her ears.

And I remember how, when we had settled down and were cuddling after, she answered a phone call like she was lighting up a post-coitus cigarette. It was from her girlfriend. No, not her ex, as I had been led to believe. Current. Ongoing.

I heard Rocky lie about her whereabouts and hang up. At this point I was already dressing to leave. She came over and tried to give her reasons for lying to her girlfriend and to me. They had almost broken up recently, she said. They had taken a day apart to think things through a couple weeks ago. They were on the rocks and were definitely going to break up soon. I told her she should pull the trigger on that herself and left.

I'm not a fan of nonconsensual non-monogamy. Monogamous but want to be with people other than your partner? Open your relationship or break the fuck up. Don't keep any of it from someone you claim to care about. (I'm constantly yelling this at movies that arbitrarily set up an agonizing choice of lovers for a character. Pick both! Movie done way quicker! /End rant.)

That said, I don't feel guilty about my encounter with Rocky, myself. She made some morally questionable decisions but she didn't do me any harm. I got a nice time and a good story out of it. I hope her girlfriend was so lucky.
